Kansallinen Lastenliitto on vuonna 1972 perustettu lapsi- ja varhaisnuorisojärjestö. Osallistumme aktiivisesti yhteiskunnalliseen keskusteluun lasten ja nuorten hyvän elämän edellytysten luomiseksi. Tervetuloa tutustumaan toimintaamme!

KANSALLINEN LASTENLIITTO - THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR THE CHILDREN

Was founded 1972 as an organization for children and adolescents under 15 years.

The National Organization for the Children is interested in all decisions concerning
children and wants to keep on discussion on  the Rights of Children.

Is linked to the National Coalition Party of Finland (Kokoomus).
The party is a member of the European Peoples` Party (EPP).
The Coalition Party is  represented in the Finnish cabinet.
 Is formed by eight districts.

PRINCIPLES
The main aim of the organization is
- to take an active role in society in political discussion to promote good life to children and youth
- to strengthen parenthood, increase participation and organize good activities
- give opportunities to children and youth to be active by organizing clubs, camps, recreation and education  

EDUCATIONAL PRINCIPLES
The educational aims of the organization are:
- to give children a chance to strengthen healthy life, good manners, creativity, active citizenship, strong self-respect
- capacity to co-operation
- response of young and old people, ecological life and international responsibility.
We have over 4 000 members. They can all take part in our holiday activities during holiday seasons or take part in weekly clubs organized by the local member organizations.  Some local associations organize short journeys and visits to theatres, amusement parks or other interests during the weekends. In capital area we have afternoon clubs for 7-8 year old schoolers.

ACTIVITIES

CAMPS
One week camps are organized in June, July and early August and on during school holidays in October and late February.  Educational center JELLONA is situated  25 km from  Turku city by the sea. There is accommodation for 30 children, activity center and a sauna. Every year we have 26 different camps for children, families and grandparents together with grandchildren.
EDUCATION FOR YOUTH
Educational weekends for young leaders hold on the year round on leadership, responsibility, creativity, games, first aid and adventure. The National Organization for the Children works in co-operation with other children organizations in Finland, i.e. with Child Welfare Organization and with the Finnish Youth Co-operation - Alliance.
